I am the son of Cecelia Strike and Edward Hook and the developer of this web site. I've always felt a significant level of gratitude for having been able to grow up experiencing the fascinating personalities that populated the Strike and Hook clans. It has truly been a blessing

I spent my entire childhood growing up in the Hook home in Mount Carmel at 248 South Walnut Street. I was intimately familiar with every nook and cranny of that house, from the basement to the attic. My explorations were thorough, from the Victrola in the basement to the trunks in the attic.

Particularly treasured was a card board box full of old photographs, kept in the attic, that served as a catalyst for family reminiscing. Its contents were dumped onto the kitchen table and the surrounding family members randomly selected a photo and recalled incidences from our past. Everyone of those pictures is included here.

It never occurred to me until I was a bit older that that box of photographs contained not a single picture of my Hook aunts, uncles and granparents who once lived in my home.

It was my grandmother's home, where she lived until I was 5. It seems reasonable then, that there probably was, at one time in that house, a box of accumulated photographs of Hook family members.

Possibly, maybe likely, those pictures still exist in the hands of a descendent of George and Mary Hook.

If, by chance, the person who is in possession of those photos, has encountered this web site, I would be eternally grateful if I could obtain digitized copies for inclusion here.
