The birth certificate above, obtained from anoyher family tree on Ancestry.com, provides the basis for What follows. It's easy to accept that Strike is an Americanized version of of the Lithuanian Straigis. Supporting that is Enoch's using Ignatius Straigis on the 1920 census. But, linking that birth certificate to Enoch because the last names agree is a bit of a reach. It assumes that there were no others in Lithuania with the last name Straigis. So the stuff below lacks authenticity.
When Enoch's father, Tomas Straigys, was born on November 23, 1844, in Lithuania, his father, Enoch's grandfather, Petras Straigys, was 32 and his mother, Enoch's grandmother, Marijona Butrimavičiūtė, was 22. He married Ona Beraitė and they had 13 children together. He then married Kotryna Stockunaite (1869-1929) and they had five children together. He died on November 28, 1928, in Janenai, Lithuania at the age of 84.
Petras Straigys, Enoch's grandfather, was born in 1812 in Lithuania. His father, Mateušas Straigys, Enoch's reat great grandfather, was 44 and his mother, Kristina, was 37. He had one son with Marijona Butrimavičiūtė in 1844. He died on September 6, 1875, in his hometown at the age of 63.
