In the 1910 census of the Hook Family, Michael is no longer listed. He is 20 years old in 1910 and had left Mount Carmel sometime prior to that date to live in Philadelphia. By 1920 he had married Verna and they had two sons, Michael 4, and Edward 2. On this 1920 census Verna is listed as 25 years old and Michael as 24. Both ages are incorrect. Om the 1900 Census Michael is listed as 10 years old. That places his birth date aboit 1890. Furthermore his death certificate indiccates he was born around 1890. And the birth certificate of his second son also confirms the 1890 date.
So, Michael would be 30 and Verna 31 in 1920. Michael's second son Edward was born in 1917 when Michael was 27. His first child Michael Jr was born two years earlier in 1915. So, assuming conformity with cultural standards at that time, Michael and Verna were married in 1914 or prior. There are no newspaper accounts of their wedding.
